How a Letter From the Future Can Change Your Life

I have discovered that how you are in business is how you are in life. So the good news is, if you lead a great life, you have a great business. Even if you don’t run or own a business my tips will help you more deeply enjoy your life.
The very first step is to get very very clear on what you really desire. Not what you think you “should” be, do or have. Go in deep and tune into your heart. What do you see? Feel? Taste? Touch? Hear? What would be the perfect life/business for you to be living. Please don’t be afraid to dream big. Let yourself go and don’t stop the big dreams that show up
Now, write a letter to yourself 5 years from now telling how great it is to have all of those things. This is a letter from the future as if you have it all in 5 years.
Next, begin a gratitude journal. Every day end your day with writing down in the journal 5 things you are grateful for. Every day – no exceptions. Gratitude will help shift the negative thinking and fears that block you from your success.
Begin to believe you can have what you want and each day re-read your letter out-loud and close your eyes and see what it is you want in your life.
When challenges show up in your daily life the way you react and think will determine your success. Focus on what IS working vs. what is not quite right, yet.
Be with positive, motivated people and let go of the people who drain you. They are toxic and will stop your success.
As I always say to the clients I am mentoring for success:
Be sure you sharpen your focus so you are focused on your goals and don’t let anything else distract you.
To be successful you must learn to communicate clearly and effectively. You must be in integrity. You are your word, and nothing but your word.
Surround yourself in business and life with things and people that you love. If you don’t like sending out invoices, delegate that task. If you don’t like an employee, let them go.
Make a list of the 3 things you love to do in business and the 3 things you really don’t like. Then focus on doing more of what you love and less of what you don’t – delegate, delegate, delegate!
And finally, my biggest secret for leading a successful life/business:
Never stop learning. Get a mentor, coach, buddy, etc and learn new information about all areas on your 5 year letter. The only way to change your business/life to become successful in all areas is to implement and take action on what you learn.
Work on letting go of your fears and stories about success, too. Do you want to buy into them? They are costing you a lot and holding them back. Would you seriously invest in those fears if you had to buy them? Of course not! Now, get learning so you can release your fears!
